Tom Stehr is the Vice President of Animal Nutrition. Tom brings 30 years of experience in the feed and grain business to ALCIVIA. His career in the feed business began as a country mill manager and in that role, he was able to understand how the importance of sourcing ingredients leads to producing quality feed and ultimately customer satisfaction.
As Tom’s career progressed, he moved into a role that allowed him to have responsibility for multiple locations that were both feed and grain operations. At that point, his responsibilities were focused on individual P&Ls and working with general managers on running their facilities and managing inventory, feed quality, and collaborative efforts to bring sales management and operations leadership together. As Tom states, “This model generates the best opportunity for profitable sales and capturing production efficiencies.”
Tom’s experience in the grain industry surrounding operations and risk management translate beneficially to procurement, sales and establishing margins and sales goals in the feed industry.
Tom has a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife Marcia have three children and enjoy taking family vacations together and spending time at their cabin in northern Wisconsin.
