Q: When should I place my propane order?

A: The best time to place your propane order is when your tank gauge reads around 30%. Ordering at 30% gives our dispatch team enough time to schedule your delivery within the normal delivery window — usually 5–7 business days — while ensuring you don’t run low during high-demand periods. This also helps us plan routes efficiently, reduce emergency calls, and keep pricing stable for all members. If you wait until your tank drops below 15–20%, it can create delivery challenges, especially during winter weather or when demand is high. Running out completely can require a leak check and reconnection fee before your system can be restarted. Ordering early keeps your service uninterrupted and helps us deliver safely, efficiently, and on time — especially when temperatures drop.

Q: How do I order propane without calling?

A: We offer four easy ways to order your propane digitally, without calling:

  1. Fill out an online order form on the ALCIVIA website.
  2. If you have an ALCIVIA monitor on your tank, you can use the NeeVo app on your smart phone.
  3. Send an email to energyinfo@ALCIVIA.com. If you have a chargeable account, the order will be placed and you will receive a confirmation reply. If your account is COD, you will receive a phone call requesting payment for the propane prior to the order in dispatch.
  4. Order on the myALCIVIA app or portal

Q: Why do I have to salt my driveway and leave a clear path to my tank?

A: Our propane trucks will need to navigate your driveway to make a delivery, which is impossible if the driveway is covered by snow and ice. Contrary to an Amazon or UPS truck, our trucks carry extremely hazardous materials. Keeping your driveway clear (and sanded if it is steep) will ensure that we can access your propane tank safely and without incident. Please also remember that our delivery trucks are wider than a standard car—clearing a narrow path may not be adequate.

Q: How long does it take to get a delivery once I place an order?

A: Under normal conditions, most propane deliveries are completed within 5–7 business days after your order is placed.

  • Delivery timing can vary depending on a few factors — including weather conditions, seasonal demand, and where your tank is located along our delivery routes. During periods of extreme cold or high demand, our team prioritizes deliveries based on tank levels, safety concerns, and scheduled contracts to make sure no one runs out of fuel.
  • Even when things get busy, our dispatch and driver teams work extended hours to keep deliveries on track. If your delivery window changes or additional time is needed, we’ll always communicate updates with you directly.

For members needing product sooner, rush or same-day deliveries may be available depending on location and schedule — additional trip or priority charges may apply. We appreciate your patience and understanding, especially during the winter season, as we work to deliver safely, efficiently, and fairly to every customer.

Q: I see an ALCIVIA truck nearby — why didn’t they stop at my location?

A: Our delivery routes are carefully planned each day to make sure every stop is handled safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Each delivery is pre-assigned by our dispatch team to balance workload, distance, and available product — so even if you see one of our trucks in your area, it may already be loaded for specific customers. If you need a same-day or rush delivery, we’ll always do our best to accommodate it. Please note that additional trip or priority charges may apply depending on your location and timing.

Q: Why isn’t my propane tank filled to 100%?

A: Propane tanks are intentionally only filled to roughly 80%, not to 100%, to allow for safe expansion of the gas. As temperatures rise, propane expands, and leaving space at the top of the tank prevents pressure build-up, which could be hazardous. This is a standard safety practice followed by all propane providers.
